In the honor of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu, a pioneer of Telugu Film Industry, a national award named after him is presented every year by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and contributions to Telugu Film Industry. The award carries Rs.5000/- in cash, Golden Nandi and a citation. This year the awards announced for two years (2005 & 2006) are presented along with the Nandi Film Awards on the same stage.
